Proposition 6: Bylaw Amendments to Article 3 Directors, section 3.10 Directors, Meetings; Quorum, etc.
_edited.jpg)
WHY?? The current bylaw requires antiquated methods of communication and does not allow for Association issues to be met with a sense of urgency by the Board of Directors.
Rationale: This bylaw is significantly outdated. At the time it was written, telegraph was one of the options to communicate a special meeting to members of the Board of Directors. Modernizing this bylaw leaves the method of communication to Board members open and less restrictive, allowing the Association’s communication process to remain fluid as communication methods evolve now and in the future. Additionally, by shortening the required days for notice for special meetings from 8 (eight) to 3 (three), these meetings of the Board can be scheduled quickly, allowing Association issues to be addressed efficiently and with a sense of urgency. Also, with the availability of online meeting capabilities, it is no longer necessary for Board members to be physically present in the community to attend meetings. As a result, scheduling meetings for the Board can now be accomplished more easily and efficiently.
